A MAN was found with facial injuries while police were responding to reports of a car break-in.
Police received reports that a blue MG ZS had been broken into and a wallet stolen from within at around 6.50am on Thursday, September 8.
A suspect dressed in a dark navy hooded top and jeans was chased by a witness from the scene in Bury Hill, near Pulborough.
Later, officers scouring the area found a man who fit the description walking up Bury Hill with injuries to his face.
He was taken to hospital after telling officers he had been assaulted.
A 39-year-old man from Bognor Regis was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and has since been released under investigation.
