As organiser of the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile on Sunday, I wanted to write and thank the wonderful volunteers from the University of Brighton who helped run this fantastic event. For nothing more than a T-shirt and a sandwich they carried out their tasks professionally and with smiles on their faces. Huge thanks should also go to the local sports clubs and Brighton and Hove City Council for their support.
With more than 5,000 runners braving the wet weather, the Brighton and Hove mile was one of the biggest and best in the country.
We had a large number of goody bags left over which we have donated to local schools and charities. We are already looking forward to 2010.
