I am a 74-year-old man living in Newhaven. Like most pensioners I watch my fuel bills carefully. The date of the price increase for gas and electricity from British Gas - January 18 - came in the middle of my three-month billing period.
I am amazed to find that the higher price rate, that is charged for the inital 714kwh (gas) and 141kwh (electricity), has been applied both at the start of the billing period and again at the date of the rate change.
This has resulted in an overcharge of £18.44 on my two fuel bills.
I have lodged a complaint. Perhaps your readers would be resourceful enough to check their own bills carefully.
I would not be surpised if the number of complaints would be an embarrassment to this supplier.
