I completely agree with Tony Cookson when he complains about Newhaven seafront being fenced off (Letters, March 19).
This beach has always been one of my family's favourites and yet the prospect of setting foot on it this summer seems slim.
I appreciate the French firm involved are protecting themselves from litigation in the event of an accident but why can't Newhaven Town Council enter into some arrangement with the owners so people can use this area like they can most of most of Britain's coastline?
