Figures from the world of television news bade a final farewell to former ITN newscaster Carol Barnes at her funeral service today.
Former colleagues Dermot Murnaghan, Alastair Stewart and Mark Webster gathered alongside close family and friends for the funeral near Barnes's home in Brighton.
Other mourners at the private service were expected to include her son James, who paid tribute to his mother shortly after her death as a "beautiful, kind and delicate" person.
Barnes, a familiar face on TV screens for 30 years, died at the age of 63 at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton earlier this month, days after suffering a massive stroke.
