A FOOD and drink festival has been postponed following the death of Her Majesty the Queen.
The three-day Pub in the Park festival, which was due to take place in Preston Park next weekend, will now take place in May to avoid clashing with the national days of mourning.
In a statement, organisers said: "We don’t wish to promote and stage an event next weekend during a period of national mourning and in the days leading up to the funeral. We would prefer to give all involved time and space to grieve as they wish.
"Therefore we have decided to postpone this event to next year and have provisionally agreed to stage Pub in the Park Brighton on 5-7 May 2023."
Organisers also said that ticket holders and participants will be contacted in due course.
It comes as the London to Brighton bike ride announced that the event will continue, despite the period of mourning.
The Queen’s funeral is expected to take place on September 19.
