THE Duke of Sussex has boarded a flight to London following the death of his grandmother the Queen.
Prince Harry was seen leaving Balmoral at around 8.15am after spending the night with his family.
The convoy passed flowers that had been laid as tributes to his late grandmother.
Two dark Range Rovers later arrived at Aberdeen International Airport, led by five police motorbikes, at around 9.20am.
Half an hour later the duke was seen boarding a British Airways flight wearing a black suit and carrying a shoulder bag as he walked towards the steps of the plane.
He was accompanied by a woman wearing a hi-vis vest, who he spoke with and at one stage he was seen placing his hand on her shoulder.
The King is expected to leave later for Aberdeen airport to fly back to London.
He will address the nation tonight at 6pm in his first televised address as King.
Last night, he released a statement following the news of his mother’s death, expressing his sadness in the time of mourning.
Following the announcement His Majesty The King said: “The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.
“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother.
“I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.
“During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held.”
