I'm only a Sugababes fan through the process of osmosis.

My girlfriend likes them a bit and often plays their greatest hits album. They also seem to get a lot of radio play whenever I'm in the car so their music has crept up on me.

The Sugababes have the key to success - their songs are very, very catchy.

So once founding member and creative driving force Mutya left the band, I was unconvinced they would last much longer.

But they have managed to weather the uncertainty of her leaving and a myriad of tabloid headlines.

The show at Brighton's Dome was simply excellent.

Heidi, Keisha and Amelle appeared on stage and got straight down to it with hit Hole In The Head.

The pace was relentless from then on with others such as new track Never Going To Dance Again, Freak and In The Middle.

The "babes" are professional performers and delivered a great night of song and dance.

Their popularity is broad - the audience included children and 40-year-old women. Whoever is in charge of their musical direction should carry on what they are doing because from what I saw, there is plenty of life left in the Sugababes.
