Brighton artist Jan Irvine made the most of the recent storms and persuaded a model to pose on a windswept seafront.
Ms Irvine, who has held exhibitions across the country, has just moved into a new gallery in Madeira Drive.
She specialises in live drawing and is often seen sketching Brighton flamenco dancers and Brighton and Hove Albion football club.
The artist decided to take advantage of the violent storms that hit the South earlier this week and sketch model Paula Pearson braving the 80mph winds.
Fortunately Ms Irvine is known for artistic speed and her subject, who was wearing a shoulderless Spanish-style dress, was only out in the gale force winds for 15 minutes.
