I've kept it secret from my sneering indie mates for years, but finally I have to confess - I'm a musicals addict. Heaven knows I've fought it, but I often catch myself crooning Any Dream Will Do in the shower, or Evita on the train.
All it takes is a snatch of Edelweiss and I'm skipping around as if I'm on the Austrian meadows myself.
So A Night At The Musicals, featuring dozens of the best-known songs from some of the most popular shows, was a joy.
Performed by the rechristened City Theatre Company, (formerly Brighton & Hove Operatic Society), with impressive guest appearances from the City Youth Theatre Company, an enthusiastic audience was treated to song and dance routines from Copacabana, Mamma Mia, A Slice Of Saturday Night, Guys & Dolls and others.
The kids doing Beauty And The Beast stole the show, but overall it was a riotous, wonderful performance.
