Nellie O'Sullivan is correct, the dog owner she witnessed leaving dog mess on the beach was irresponsible (Letters, March 7), but no more so than those who leave litter, bottles and cans etc.
As a dog owner I do not want to walk in dog mess, nor do I want another £300 vet bill for my dog when she next cuts her paw on litter left by irresponsible people.
We all pay council tax and we share the cost of keeping the beach tidy. If I, as someone who enjoys walking my dog on the beach, am to be penalised because of irresponsible dog owners will others be accepting the same blame for the litter?
What is wrong with the current system? There seems to be space for all.
