A school is closed today because of the strong winds.
Coldean Primary School in Selham Drive, Coldean, Brighton, and the attached Monkey Puzzle Pre-School will be closed due to storm damage.
Beach huts were also damaged along the coast, with those at Goring in Worthing being particularly badly damaged.
Brighton and Hove Bus Company sent out single deckers on services along the coast instead of double deckers because of the strong winds.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it had been called out to deal with reports of loose windows and roof tiles.
A tree fell on the A281 between Horsham and Cowfold.
