Former ITN newsreader Carol Barnes remained seriously ill in hospital this morning after suffering a massive stroke.
A spokesman for the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton said there has been no change in the 63-year-old's condition since she was admitted last weekend.
Ms Barnes, who lives in Brighton Marina, had been due to fly to South Africa for a holiday before her collapse.
Friends, former colleagues and well-wishers rushed to leave messages of support when news of her illness became public.
