READING reports of robberies, assaults, car vandalism and graffiti and antisocial behaviour, I feel compelled to ask if Sussex police have any intention or interest in making their presence felt?
I had the misfortune to need their assistance a couple of weeks ago when our delightfully selfish student neighbours decided to have an all-night party on a Tuesday.
This wonderful event meant that as an NHS worker due on shift at 7am I got precisely two hours sleep.
I was referred to the "neighbourhood noise team" who only operate at weekends. All I got was a crime reference number.
My question is this. If the police in Brighton refuse to assist people in distress, have we the right to stop funding through deduction on our council tax?
Of course the answer to this rhetorical question is a firm "no". But I for one, will certainly be questioning our illustrious council.
