AN LGBTQ+ bar in the city centre is undergoing a vibrant transformation.
R-Bar, formerly known as Bar Revenge, in Marine Parade, Brighton, closed its doors earlier this year for refurbishment.
A first look at the new layout of the bar reveals an interior inspired by Miami nostalgia, taking cues from Ocean Drive in the Florida city during the 1980s and the seafront’s warm and vibrant sunsets to provide a space that "transitions seamlessly from daytime to the neon hues of happy hour".
The new look features disco balls, as well as bright colours and geometric shapes.
R-Bar acts as a pre-clubbing destination for its sister venue Club Revenge, around the corner in Old Steine.
The new design by DesignLSM aims to "emphasise a compelling daytime experience to reflect the bar’s soon-to-be-introduced food offering".
The redesign is set to be completed later this month.
Club Revenge, which first opened in 1991, was recently ranked as one of the best gay bars in the UK, scoring highly for its Instagram and number of hashtags on the social media platform.
