CELEBRITY chef Tom Kerridge is coming to Brighton and he is bringing a whole host of famous faces with him.
The Michelin star chef will be in the city as part of his food and music festival which combines quality dishes with musical acts such as Melanie C and The Human League.
Kerridge will head up the Pub in The Park event as host alongside Marco Pierre White and Sunday Brunch’s Simon Rimmer.
Kerridge said: “It’s got a great feel to it with the idea of food and being involved in festivals. It’s Michelin star chefs do street food.
“It’s a festival but more family friendly, we’re super excited and it’s been an incredible journey.
“We’re trying to create a great vibe of flavours and excitement. It’s all about technique and fun.”
The family friendly festival comes to Brighton for the first time as part a national tour and is based around cooking demonstrations as well as a range of music.
Cooking demonstrations range from traditional cooking to open fire pits and guests will also have the chance to chat to chefs in VIP Q&A sessions.
Festival goers can expect a wide variety of foods to be on offer with everything from bao buns and tacos to Michelin star chef Atul Kochar’s range of Indian foods.
On working with fellow chefs such as Pierre White and Rimmer, Kerridge said that they “are friends but also brilliant colleagues, they have a great, great energy”.
The festival will also involve a range of musical acts throughout the weekend as headliners such as Basement Jaxx and The Human League.
Fresh from her DJ set at Glastonbury, former Spice Girl will also be bringing energy to the big stage as she headlines the festival’s Saturday night slot.
Kerridge highlighted that the event will particularly look to involve Sussex-based chefs as part of the event, making the event “feel national but also localised”.
He added: “We really try to engrain ourselves in the community.”
Pub in the Park will be in Preston Park from Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18, with tickets still available.
