ALBION have a two per cent chance of winning the Premier League and a 20 per cent chance of making the Champions League, according to a super computer.

Graham Potter’s side have started their Premier League season in fantastic form, beating Manchester United 2-1, drawing with Newcastle 0-0 and beating West Ham away 2-0 on Sunday.

FiveThirtyEight, a statistics website, predicts Brighton to have a two per cent chance of winning the league... and a two per cent chance of relegation.

The algorithm uses data from the team’s previous season, as well as figures from their market value.

A team’s ratings are adjusted after every match based on performance in each match.

While it is far too early to be predicting Albion to go on a European tour next season, the algorithm gives the Seagulls a 22 per cent chance of Champions League, as the table currently stands.

It predicts Brighton to have more chance of qualifying for the Champions League than Manchester United.

Based off the league so far, the computer’s average simulated season has Brighton on 59 points with a +8 goal difference.

That would be eight points better off than Brighton’s highest ever ninth-placed finish with 51 points last season.

59 points would have been enough to secured sixth place last season, which would put a team into the Europa League.

Fingers crossed!
