THE A259 has been closed in both directions due to a mile long diesel spillage.
Police are on the scene of the incident between Camber and Winchelsea which was first reported at around 9.45am today.
AA Traffic News is reporting that drivers are being delayed by up to 26 minutes with an average speed of 5mph.
The spill is also said to be a mile long on the A259 South Undercliff from A268 Fishmarket Road to Wish Street.

The A259 is closed in both directions between Camber and Winchelsea owing to an diesel spill.

A Sussex Police spokesman said it is currently unknown when the road will reopen.
He said: “The A259 is closed in both directions between Camber and Winchelsea owing to a diesel spill.
“It's not known when the road will reopen so please find an alternative route and allow extra time for your journey.
“We'll provide an update in due course.”
