House prices in East Sussex have gone up by an average of over £1,000 in the month of May, according to figures from the Land Registry.
The latest data from the government department reveals that in May 2022 average house prices in East Sussex reached £345,185.
This was up from £343,710 in April, representing a 0.4 per cent increase. In the last 12 months it has risen by 13.4 per cent.

Breaking it down for specific types of housing, some prices saw a fall despite the general increase.
- Detached houses - Up to £589,889 from £584,698 in April
- Semi-detached houses - Up to £380,987 from £378,268 in April
- Terraced houses - Up to £301,417 from £300,186 in April
- Flats - Down to £190,795 from £192,015 in April

In cash terms, the average house price in May was £32,210 higher than a year earlier with house price growth accelerating to 12.8 per cent in May 2022. Prices were up by 1.2 per cent month on month.
