RISHI Sunak and Liz Truss will answer questions from Tory members from Sussex as the Conservative leadership race comes to the south coast.
The two candidates vying to replace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister will take part in a hustings in Eastbourne later this evening, with members of the Conservative Party from the region getting the chance to grill each candidate on their plans for the future direction of the country.
Both candidates have visited Sussex in recent weeks, with the former Chancellor and the foreign secretary paying a visit to meet members at Fontwell Park racecourse, near Littlehampton.
Protests by campaign group Stand Up to Racism are planned ahead of the hustings at Eastbourne station, criticising both candidates’ “racist scapegoating of refugees and migrants” after Sunak and Truss signalled they would continue the government’s Rwanda immigration policy.
