A WORLD-RENOWNED classical pianist is set to perform a sunset concerto high above the coast.
AyseDeniz Gokcin, recently named as a musician to “watch out for” by BBC Music Magazine, will play to visitors on the i360 in Brighton.
It will be the first time that a performer will play a full-sized grand piano in the viewing tower’s glass pod.
Visitors to the i360 will enjoy a programme featuring Chopin, Beethoven, some of her own compositions, and even a classical arrangement of Pink Floyd.
Laura Pauley of the i360 said people are “in for a treat”.
She said: “Ayse is known for surprising her audiences by often mixing rock tunes by bands such as Pink Floyd and Nirvana with classical music.
“Ayse’s album, Beethoven Senses, is available on all British Airways flights so this a perfect collaboration during what will be a stunning sunset flight.”
Ayse made her concerto debut when she was just nine years old.
Considered a child prodigy, she is now recognised internationally for her ability to unite the classical genre with rock music, creating original arrangements and performing sold-out solo shows worldwide.
Tickets to the performance onboard the 7.30pm and 8pm flights on August 20 are available for £17.50 on the i360’s website.
