A NEW vegan fast-food restaurant is to open in the city centre.
Oowee, crowned Deliveroo’s Restaurant of the Year in 2019, is launching its seventh site in the UK on August 27.
The restaurant in Market Street will offer an entirely plant-based menu, including "fried chick’n and plant-based beef-burgers".
Oowee co-founder Charlie Watson said the restaurant focuses on “quality, flavour and innovation”.
“Between 2014 and 2019, the UK saw the number of vegans quadruple, and after having been named the best place in the UK for vegans, it’s safe to say that there’s no better time to be opening a vegan restaurant in Brighton than now,” he said.
“Our mission at Oowee is to lead the way with the future of fast food. The quality of vegan food being developed now is mind-blowing, and we aim to be at the forefront of that, being enjoyed by meat eaters just as much as vegans.
“After a successful pop-up in Brighton last year, we’re super excited to be back with our new design flagship store this summer.
“We have a fantastic position in the heart of The Lanes, and can't wait for the community to try our food.”
Oowee, which started in Bristol, opened two sites in London in 2020.
The Brighton branch will be open between 11.30am and 10.30pm from Sunday to Wednesday, and until 11pm between Thursday and Saturday.
