A TAXI has been engulfed in flames.
Emergency services were called to the fire in Old Shoreham Road, near Southwick, at about 11.30am on Wednesday, August 3.
Firefighters were photographed tackling the blaze with hoses.
The pictures show one fire engine at the scene, with fire crews spraying the Brighton and Hove taxi with water.
A bystander said: “The fire brigade just arrived and police as well.
“There is a huge traffic jam on both sides of the road. The taxi caught on fire and then the car parked in the house driveway as well.”
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "We were called to a vehicle fire in Old Shoreham Road, Southwick. It was reported to us by the fire service at about 11.40am.
"Police are providing assistance with a temporary road closure."
