A PREGNANT cow was rescued by fire crews after falling into a ditch.
Firefighters and East Sussex Fire and Rescue's animal rescue team were called to a farm in Wartling when Eliah, who is eight months pregnant, fell into the trench.
The teams successfully moved Eliah, although she was said to have felt a little sorry for herself.
Like humans, a cow’s pregnancy typically lasts around nine months.
Once labour starts, delivery can take between half an hour to two hours on average.
Most cows will give birth to around two to four calves in a lifetime.
The crew was called at around 10.16am on Monday.
