HUNDREDS of people were left without power for hours following an electrical fault.
Around 250 properties across Brighton and Hove, along with parts of Surrey and northern Kent, saw their electricity cut out at around 9.20pm last night (July 27).
UK Power Networks said they received dozens of calls about the outage.
One resident said Montpelier Road in Brighton appeared to have lost all power, but that the outage seemed only to affect a few roads in the area.
He said: βItβs surreal but also quite cosy. Power cuts are always weird but having to light a few candles is always nice.β
The power failure was caused by an underground electricity cable fault.
Electricity was restored to homes and other properties at just after midnight this morning.
