ENGLAND fans have begun to arrive at the Amex Stadium as the Lionesses fight for a place in the semi-final of Euro 2022.
Spectators for tonight’s match in Brighton against Spain donned England shirts and waved England flags ahead of this evening’s face-off.
Among the fans arriving at Falmer for tonight’s match was Raffaella, who brought a homemade sign for Lucy Bronze with her to the match.
The match will be the final one held at the stadium in the city, with almost 29,000 people attending to see England thrash Norway 8-0 in a group stage match last Monday.
Sarina Wiegman’s side, who scored 14 goals in their three group matches, will take on the Spanish side - ranked one place above them by FIFA, as they continue their quest for glory and first ever win in the tournament.
England captain Leah Williamson has insisted the Lionesses are relishing the challenge of tonight’s winner-take-all clash.
She said: “Obviously it’s knockout football, the game changes once you get through the group, the nature of the game is different. There will be one winner and that’s it.
“We know the situation, but we choose to look at it as an opportunity and we’re confident.
“We’re in good form and hopefully we can do what we have been doing in this tournament tonight.”
Kick-off for the England v Spain match takes place at 8pm, with the match broadcast live on BBC One. The Argus will also be covering live updates from tonight's match at the Amex later this evening.
