A GOGGLEBOX star has apologised for pulling a woman into a swimming pool at an exclusive club after he was pushed in himself.
Stephen Webb was pushed by a friend into the pool fully clothed at Brighton Beach House, The Sun reported.
The 50-year-old then grabbed a woman sitting nearby and pulled her in too, as she floundered in the water gasping for air.
Following the incident at the members-only club - the first Soho House to open in Sussex - Stephen told The Sun he was “very sorry if she felt upset or hurt by my actions”.
“That was never my intention,” he said.
“I’d been swimming and having dried and got fully dressed, a friend pushed me back into the pool.
“I took it in very good spirits, and everyone was laughing and joking so seeing his friend sat on the edge of the pool, pulled her round her waist into the water with me.
“We’d enjoyed a really good time together and I felt it was all part of the fun.”
The woman was said to have been sitting with Stephen’s husband Daniel Lustig, 47, next to the banana-shaped pool.
Stephen, who lives in Brighton and runs a hairdressers with Daniel, shot to fame as a regular on Channel 4 show Gogglebox.
Brighton Beach House, located in a Grade II-listed terrace in Madeira Drive, overlooks the beach near Brighton Palace Pier.
The club’s facilities include a retro-feel terrace looking out to sea, a stone-topped bar and Soho House’s own Venetian-inspired restaurant, Club Cecconi’s.
Those looking to enjoy some of the new venue’s facilities will have to apply for membership for Soho House, which can cost more than £200 a month with a £500 one-off registration fee.
Founded in 1995, Soho House operates clubs across the world in a range of cities, including Barcelona, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Mumbai, and New York.
