Brighton has experienced some very hot weather early this week, as much of the UK struggled with temperatures in the mid-30s.
Additionally, the UK documented its hottest ever temperature, with 40.2C provisionally recorded at London Heathrow, the Met Office said.
The threshold was hit at 12.50pm as much of the UK sweltered in a heatwave, with parts of England and Wales under a red warning for extreme heat.
Brighton itself has seen temperatures in the low 30s over the past two days and that is set to dip slightly for the remainder of the week.

Wednesday, July 20
Brighton will experience a mixture of sunny and overcast weather on Wednesday, with a very small chance of rain.
Temperatures will peak at 21C between 2pm and 6pm, and will remain in the low 20s throughout much of the day.
Thursday, July 21
Thursday will also be a mixture of sunny and overcast weather2, but it should be a bit warmer at 24C at its peak.
Friday, July 22
There will be a mixture of sun and overcast weather on Friday, plus the likelihood of rain between 10am and 4pm.
Met Office says there is between a 30%-50% chance of rain in that time, and the maximum temperature that will be experienced is 22C.
Saturday, July 23
Saturday will mostly be sunny, with temperatures peaking at 23C.
Sunday, July 24
Finally, Sunday will be consistently sunny throughout the day, also with a maximum temperature of 24C.
