A MAN has been arrested after a group robbed a bag from a boy.
Three young men wearing balaclavas in West Street in Horsham approached a 15-year-old boy with a friend outside The Lynd Cross pub and a branch of Wilkinson’s.
The boy was taken around the corner towards The Gym and his bag was taken.
Members of the public saw what happened and intervened, challenging one of the three men and bravely helping to detain him in a nearby Waitrose after a short pursuit.
The suspect, a slim white man, 6’ 2”, was seen carrying a knife and was arrested by police.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information, with the other two men described as slim, black, 5’ 2” and 5’ 4” respectively.
Officers have urged anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have seen the suspects together in the town centre to come forward.
Information can be reported to Sussex Police online or on 101, quoting serial 1144 of 15/07.
Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
