LOVE Island stars Luca Bish and Gemma Owen are the first to confess their love for each other.
On Thursday nights show, Luca, a 23-year-old fishmonger from Rottingdean, took Gemma, the daughter of football star Michael Owen, to the terrace where they had their first chat.
“I can’t help how I feel and hopefully you feel the same. You know I’ve fallen for you,” Luca said.
“I’ve never been so sure in saying something. I think I’m in love with you. No, I am in love with you.”
Gemma responded: “I love you too.”
The pair are the first to drop the L-bomb on the ITV2 dating show.
In the same episode, Andrew and Tasha became an official couple, but are yet to say the three magic words.
In their heartfelt chat, Luca told Gemma he felt like he could be himself around her, including crying about Jacques O’Neill’s exit from the show the night before.
Meanwhile, the episode also featured a recoupling, with bombshell Adam Collard picking Paige after Jacques’ exit.
Danica and Billy also coupled up, while Indiyah and Dami, and Tasha and Andrew got back together.
Before entering the villa, Luca said he applied for the show after coming out of a four-year relationship.
He said: “When you look actually look back at Love Island, you can see how many couples it’s genuinely made. I don’t know how many kids Love Island has made but there are a few aren’t there?
“I came out of a four-year relationship about a year ago. I was enjoying being in a relationship, there were just things I didn’t like, and we drifted apart.”
Luca also said he isn’t a fan of dating apps, or online dating and prefers to meet girls in person.
He said: “I prefer to meet girls out and about. I think when you go looking for it, it’s not as easy though - it’s like you’re too desperate for it.
“If I think you’re the one or I like you, I’ll take you out on a date but other than that, if we talk and I don’t like where it’s going - then I won’t be throwing out dates.”
Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
