New figures have revealed that travellers taking off from Gatwick airport are more likely to have flights cancelled over any other major UK airport.
It comes as more than three per cent of planned trips did not departure according to the new research.
Making the rate 10 times worse than Stanstead, where just 0.3 per cent of trips were axed making it one of Britain's best-performing hubs.
Whereas Gatwick, saw June become the airport's worst month, with one in every 14 flights cancelled according to figures provided by Sky News by the air travel intelligence company OAG which uses information from airlines, government and other sources.
The news comes just days after Heathrow ordered airlines to stop selling tickets for summer travel after a cap on passenger numbers was placed.
Seeing no more than 100,000 daily passengers permitted throughout summer until September 11.
Gatwick has since said that it regrets any cancellations and disruptions that have affected passengers.
Explaining that they there are going to carefully increase its capacity in the coming months and offer "a better standard of service".
