A HOMELESSNESS charity is appealing for clothing, shoes and sleeping bag donations.
BHT Sussex needs men’s clothing, sleeping bags, jackets, trainers, underwear and socks to help people it supports in Brighton and Hove.
The charity runs First Base, a resource centre for homeless people in the city.
Guy Hayes, operational manager at First Base, said: “Things like warm clothes and shoes make such a difference to people facing homelessness, and we are in desperate need of these items currently.
“Our services are in demand – last year we supported 524 people at First Base and we’ve seen a big increase in the number of people coming to the centre in the last few months.
“We want to thank our generous local community for their ongoing support, which makes our work possible.”
Items can be dropped at First Base Day Centre between 8.30am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday at St Stephen’s Hall, Montpelier Place, Brighton, BN1 3BF, or at BHT’s head office at 144 London Road, Brighton, BN1 4PH.
Alternatively items can be purchased from its Amazon Wish List: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3LTFWUNPDR56J?ref_=wl_share
