TRAIN services have been disrupted after a lorry hit a railway bridge.
Routes between Oxted and Uckfield have been suspended for the rest of the day after the vehicle struck the bridge near Ashurst at around 2pm this afternoon.
The lorry has since been removed from the area with specialist teams from Network Rail and the emergency services assessing the situation.
A spokesman for Network Rail said the issue “does not look like a quick fix”.
Tickets can be used on Brighton and Hove Buses between Uckfield and Tunbridge Wells, Southeastern between Tunbridge Wells and London, Compass Buses between East Grinstead, and on Thameslink and Gatwick Express services via any reasonable route.
A Southern Rail spokeswoman said: “When travelling via an alternative route, we expect this will increase journey times by between 30 and 40 minutes.”
