THE Lionesses will return to Brighton next week for the quarter-finals of Euro 2022 after an 8-0 victory at the Amex Stadium.
The remarkable win by England sees them secure the top spot in Group A in the tournament, meaning they will play again at the Amex next Wednesday against the runners-up of Group B.
England could face the prospect of facing against Germany on July 20, replicating scenes from last year when the two teams met at the round of 16 in the mens tournament.
More than 28,000 people watched England’s triumphant win over Norway, with cries of “football’s coming home” heard at various stages at the stadium.
Should England defeat their competition next week, the women's team will be only two matches away from being crowned European champions for the first time.
