A 13-YEAR-OLD was assaulted by a group wearing balaclavas on a busy road.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in Pond Wood Road, Crawley, on Tuesday, June 28.
The boy was walking along the road at about 4pm when a group of boys dressed in black and wearing balaclavas approached him and began to punch him.
The group made off in the direction of Three Bridges Park and the victim returned home before later going to East Surrey Hospital for treatment.
He was discharged later that night.
Investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, including anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have captured any relevant CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage from the vicinity.
