ARMED police were called to an incident near the seafront.
Photographs show police officers and vehicles in Gratwicke Road, Worthing, at about 10.30pm on Sunday, July 3.
The National Police Air Service (NPAS) also assisted the emergency operation.
The details of the incident are not yet known.
However, a witness at the scene said two people were put in handcuffs by officers.
Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
