POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched multiple times outside a pub.
The man was walking down the High Street in Lewes town centre when another man became verbally abusive.
When asked to stop, the abusive man, who was sitting with a woman and another man opposite the Lansdown Arms pub, became threatening.
He subsequently punched the victim multiple times, causing an injury which required hospital treatment.
The incident happened at about 2.30am on Saturday, May 28.
Police said extensive enquiries, including checks of CCTV in the area, have been completed since the assault.
“Investigating officers are now asking for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch,” a police spokesman said.
“Anyone with information is asked to report online or by calling 101, quoting serial 175 of 28/05.”
