THERE is heavy traffic on the A23 after a horse trailer overturned this afternoon.
The incident happened around 5pm where the junction of the A2300 meets the A23 at Hickstead.
The Argus understands that two horses could have been in the box at the time of the incident.
But a witness saw two horses which "seemed fine" being led away following the crash.
Meanwhile, the road was been closed while emergency services attend and there was three miles of queues.
National Highways state that delays, which stretched back to Hurstpierpoint, were around 30 minutes.
Delays are now easing.
All lanes have now been reopened.
Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
