TRAIN services have been disrupted with services running at a reduced speed after a fault with a set of barriers at level crossings.
Southern services between Lewes, Eastbourne and Hastings are facing delays due to a number of level crossings in the area suffering technical difficulties.
While the normal route is expected to remain open, Southern is urging commuters to allow up to an extra 15 minutes for their journey.

ℹ️ You can travel as normal, but please allow some extra time.
A Southern spokesman said: “We have been advised of faults at several level crossings at different locations. As a safety precaution, trains may need to be stopped on the approach to each one, and then the drivers will be given instructions to proceed at slower speeds. As this takes extra time, some delays are likely to occur.
Network Rail response staff are being sent to check the level crossings, and the signallers will also be trying to reset the systems remotely.”
Disruption is expected to last until 9am this morning.
The delays come as Sussex train operators are running a reduced service due to industrial action yesterday, with a third day of strikes set to take place tomorrow.
