A NEW restaurant that specialises in “gourmet kebabs” has opened its first branch in Sussex.

German Doner Kebab, which opened its doors in North Street, Brighton, aims to bring a new fast-casual dining experience to the city.

The restaurant provides a dine-in experience as well as takeaway, with delivery to be available through Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats in the coming weeks.

Daniel Bunce, chief operating officer of German Doner Kebab Global, said: “We’re delighted to officially open and bring the German Doner Kebab experience to Brighton.

“Our game-changing kebabs are revolutionising the kebab in the UK and we are excited to be bringing a new fast-casual dining experience to the area, offering great tasting fresh food in a relaxed and modern setting.”

Staff officially opened the restaurant at 11am on Wednesday, cutting an orange ribbon across the outlet’s entrance to welcome customers in.

The restaurant is the brand’s 104th site in the UK, with German Doner Kebab planning to open 78 outlet across the country this year.

Freshly prepared in front of customers, the restaurant’s kebabs use fresh local vegetables and premium meats, served in handmade toasted breads with unique signature sauces.

First opening in Berlin in 1989, the brand has restaurants across the world, including in the Middle East, North America and Europe.
