A MAN who stole thousands of pounds worth of items from high street shops has been given an order banning him from a town centre.
Sam Bartlett appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court charged with more than 30 counts of shoplifting.
Bartlett, of Bishopric, Horsham, was handed the Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) in a bid to prevent further offending.
The court order bans the 42-year-old from entering certain areas of Horsham town centre between the hours of 9am and 1pm daily, unless he has a pre-arranged appointment.
It also prohibits him from entering any shop which he is already banned from, such as John Lewis, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, TK Maxx, Boots and Waterstones.
He appeared in front of magistrates on Wednesday, June 8, and was also given a 12-month community order and a nine-month drug rehabilitation requirement.
