TWO PEOPLE were rescued from a fire at a property near the Sussex seafront.
Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to Sussex Road in St Leonards at 5.27am this morning.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.
The incident has now been scaled down to two pumps.
In a statement, East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: “At 5.27 we were called to a fire on Sussex Road, St Leonards.
“Two casualties were rescued by ladder and all persons are now accounted for.
“Crews used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
“The incident is now scaling down to two pumps.”
