A MAN has been fined more than £1,000 for breaking Covid rules by failing to fill out the proper paperwork after arriving in England.
Jessy Vichon, of Arnold Street, Brighton, arrived in Newhaven after travelling from Dieppe on March 15, 2021.
Court records show he failed without reasonable excuse to provide passenger information on his passenger locator form or a negative coronavirus test.
At the time it was against Covid regulations to return to England without these items.
The locator forms required individuals to fill in travel details, their address in the UK and vaccination status.
They have been used to track people after outbreaks of the virus.
They were required by all arrivals coming to the UK from outside Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
The 27-year-old appeared before magistrates at Tameside court, Greater Manchester.
He was ordered to pay a total of £1,300 made up of a £1,100 fine, victim charges of £110 and costs of £90.
