FIREFIGHTERS were called to reports of smoke billowing from a kitchen window this afternoon.
Two fire engines went to an office in Apex Way, Hailsham at 12.32pm.
The fire appeared to have been put out on arrival.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) crews from Eastbourne and Hailsham used a thermal imaging camera but could not source any fire.
A spokeswoman from ESFRS said: “We were called at 12.32pm to attend a commercial premises on Apex Way, Hailsham following reports of smoke issuing from the kitchen of the premises.
“Firefighters from Eastbourne and Hailsham attended. Firefighters investigated the building and used a Thermal imaging Camera but could not source a fire.
“We left the scene at 13.18pm.”
