A HIGH street has been closed after a fire at a flat above a restaurant.
The incident happened this afternoon around 3pm in George Street, Hove, towards Blatchington Road.
It happened above a restaurant in a flat but it is unclear if there are any injuries at the scene.
A video shows smoke billowing out of a first floor window of the building.
Police, fire and ambulance services are all at the scene and the road remains closed.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) confirmed one fire engine attended.
A spokeswoman said: "We were called at 3.05pm to attend a fire above a commercial property above George Street in Hove.
"We used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
"A fire investigation is due to take place today or tomorrow."
Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
