A MAN has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed in the city centre last night.
The 33-year-old was attacked in North Place, Brighton, at approximately 10.30pm.
He suffered a leg wound, with onlookers claiming he was stabbed with “a screwdriver and glass”.
The road was cordoned off by police last night.
One resident who claims the man was stabbed outside her home, said via social media that it is “so sad that this is happening in Brighton.
“His girlfriend was so upset, thinking he was going to die.”
She said that a screwdriver was found "at the scene, outside my window".
The man remains in hospital, while police search for the alleged attacker.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police received a report of a stabbing in North Place, Brighton, about 10.30pm on Tuesday 14 June.
"Officers responded to the scene, and a 33-year-old man was found with a leg wound.
"He was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains at this stage.
"Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with any information is urged to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 1557 of 14/06."
