A ROADSHOW is coming to Brighton and Hove ahead of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament.
The event, which is part of a nationwide tour of each of the nine host cities, will be held on Hove Promenade on Saturday, June 25.
The Amex stadium is set to host three fixtures during the tournament, including a quarter final.
The free event will include live musical performances, an immersive TV studio, interactive challenges and a chance to have your picture taken with the trophy.
Former England player Fara Williams will also be attending the event, while there will be a chance to win tickets to games at the tournament.
Williams will be joined by a variety of sporting talent including grassroot coaches from the Sussex FA, football freestylers and members of the Lewes FC Women’s team.
With 172 appearances, Williams is England’s most capped player. She represented England at two Euro championships, three FIFA World Cups and the London 2012 Olympics.
“Some of the biggest names in the game will be playing right here in England and it’s going to be really special,” she said.
“I’m excited to be able to experience UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 as a fan this summer, as the crowds will be unlike anything European football has seen before.
“Accessibility is definitely a big part of generating that atmosphere, so it’s great to see events like the roadshows helping to introduce more people to the game”.
UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament director Chris Bryant said: “With the city hosting three fixtures, the event is a great way to get more people involved in the tournament.
“We’ve got an exciting day ahead which will help to introduce more people to the women’s game in a fun environment that the whole family can enjoy together.”
The roadshow will be open from 11am to 5pm.
