A YOUTUBER has been branded an “idiot” after camping next to a cliff edge.
Liam Brown spent the night in the South Downs National Park near Eastbourne – erecting a tent just a metre from the cliff edge.
Liam, whose videos have amassed more than nine million views, uploaded the video titled ‘Hiking and wild camping in the South Downs’ on Sunday, June 12.
In the video, Liam pitches his tent near the cliff edge, before cooking dinner on a camping stove.
After erecting his tent, he says: “We are quite literally a metre away from that cliff, so hopefully it doesn’t fall.”
He also posed for photos sitting with his feet off the edge of the cliff.
The YouTuber, who has 117,000 subscribers on the platform, has since received a backlash from concerned members of the public.
One viewer said: “Stupid and dangerous to camp so close to that cliff edge. Chalk erosion and cliff falls are common in that area. Emergency services have better things to do than picking injured or dead idiots off the rocks below.”
“Idiot of the week,” another said.
Another added: “Have you got a death wish?”
The video filmed in South Downs National Park has got more than 10,000 views since being uploaded.
In the video, after waking up, eating breakfast and packing away his tent, Liam again peers over the edge of the cliff on another hike around the area.
His YouTube channel uses the tag line “I become uncomfortable being comfortable”.
He also uploaded a series of pictures of his trip on Twitter, with the caption: “You can't beat a bit of camping next to the ocean, even if you're tent's a foot away from the edge.”

Meanwhile, in the description of the video, Liam said: “This was one of the most picturesque camping spots I have ever stayed at.
“I plan on wild camping in all 15 of the UK's national parks - this time it was the South Downs; 13 down, two to go.”
Liam has previously uploaded videos of him camping in Dartmoor, the New Forest and Exmoor in recent weeks.
