A NEW LGBTQ+ drama featuring singer Harry Styles is set for release this winter.
Set in Brighton in 1957, My Policeman sees the As It Was musician take on the role of Tom Burgess, a policeman who is secretly gay at a time when homosexuality was illegal.
While dating a schoolteacher named Marion, Tom embarks on a romance with a museum curator named Patrick Hazelwood.
Filming for the drama, produced by Amazon Studios, took place last year across the city, with shooting taking place at the Royal Pavilion and the Palace Pier, as well as at locations in Saltdean, Peacehaven and Newhaven.
The film, streaming worldwide from November 4, is based on a 2012 novel by Bethan Robert of the same name and sees Harry Styles act alongside Emma Corrin and David Dawson - star of BBC crime drama Luther and ITV’s Coronation Street.
Other notable cast members include Linus Roache, Rupert Everett and Line of Duty star Gina McKee.
Two first-look images for the highly anticipated film have been released by Amazon, with one showing Tom chatting with Marion in a swimming pool, while the other sees the couple looking around a gallery with Patrick.
Known for being one of the most successful members of boyband One Direction, the 28-year-old made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s 2017 war film Dunkirk.
My Policeman is also set for release in cinemas in the UK and the US on October 21.
