POLICE are appealing for witnesses after the theft of a catalytic converter.
The theft occurred in the area of Lucking Lane in Elmer, near Bognor, at about 10.30pm on May 18.
Police are appealing for information regarding a vehicle seen acting suspiciously in the area at the time.
The vehicle is described as a “long, grey or blue estate”.
Police said two men are believed to be involved in the theft.
A witness to the theft said they spotted a man carrying a jack.
They described the man as white, about 5ft 9in, muscular and in their mid-30s.
“He was wearing a baseball cap of a colour which I do not remember,” they said. “He had a jumper which was not zipped up with blue colour jeans. He appeared clean shaven with no distinctive features.
“He was carrying the jack for short period of time, and then threw it into the boot.”
The witness described the man driving the car as white, about 5ft 9in and muscular.
He in believed to be in his mid-30s and was wearing a hooded jumper and blue jeans.
“This man did not appear to have any distinguish features, and was not carrying anything,” the witness added.
